An Interview on Professional Soccer Player Rijad Kobiljar.
“Fudbal” or soccer as you may know it, has been a big part of my life, and in numerous ways, has shaped who I am today. But right now, I’m not going to talk too heavily on my own experiences with soccer. On the other hand, I will be talking to you about an exclusive interview I recently conducted with a professional European soccer player that currently plays for Zrinjski Mostar. His name is Rijad Kobiljar and he is an unbelievable soccer player as well as a great human being. His team, Zrinjski Mostar, are currently the number one soccer team team in the Bosnian Premier League.
Rijad Kobiljar is the most talented soccer player I have ever had the privilege to share the pitch with. I truly believe he has the talent and potential to be one of the greatest soccer players in the world.
It’s amazing that at such a young age, Kobiljar is playing for the best team in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him playing for the Bosnia and Herzegovina International soccer team in the near future.
The creative style that Rijad Kobiljar plays with while he moves the ball is both magical and inspiring to anyone who watches his matches in the Premiere League. I would go as far as comparing him to professional soccer player, Lionel Messi.
Paying close attention to Kobiljar’s style of play, it is easy to see the similarities in playing style with his Idol, Messi. Both keep the ball close to their feet, never losing their orientation on the pitch. Both are able to maneuver easily through the midfield and press up high on the pitch, always looking for openings on the opposing teams’ defense. Rijad Kobiljar’s athletic ability matched with his intelligence of the game makes him a highly valuable asset to his team.
There are 3.5 Billion estimated soccer fans across the globe. Soccer is clearly the greatest and most popular sport this world has seen, this can be evidenced by the billions of passionate soccer lovers on earth.
Exclusive Interview on Rijad Kobiljar
Me: Why is fudbal (soccer) important to you?
Rijad Kobiljar: “It’s important to me because it has given me a lot of important knowledge about life. Everything I learned about life I learned with a ball at my feet.”
Me: What inspires you to play the greatest game in the world?
Rijad Koblijar: “My inspiration to play professional fudbal is simple… it is fudbal itself … other than that it’s for everyone who doubts me and has something negative to say … in other words haters.”
For those with Haters, Listen Carefully…
“IN THIS LIFE, PEOPLE WILL LOVE YOU AND PEOPLE WILL HATE YOU AND NONE OF THAT WILL HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU.” – Abraham Hicks
Me: Who has inspired you in your life and why?
Rijad Kobiljar: “My parents are my inspiration. Every day I remember the struggle of what it was like moving to America after the war in Bosnia ended. We had very little and everyone slept on the floor with no electricity. Nonetheless, my parents were there every step of the way through everything.”
Me: What is something about professional soccer most people don’t know about?
Rijad Kobiljar: “That it is a very difficult job and is the most stressful job known to man. I can guarantee that it is the best job because it is my passion… but by far one of the utmost challenging and most stressful.”
Me: What do you work toward in your free time?
Rijad Kobiljar: “I try my best to be as family oriented as I can be. I focus on spending time with my fiancé and building our family together when the time comes!”
Me: What is your favorite memory of soccer?
Rijad Kobiljar: “Every new day is a favorite memory for me … I’m only 20 years old and I will have many new and exciting memories to create as I continue to develop myself as a player and person.”
Me: What has been your biggest setback and how did you overcome it?
Rijad Kobiljar: “I’ve been dealing with setbacks my entire life. From everyone being against you to having agents and managers threatening you and bringing politics into fudbal … therefore if anyone knows the struggle, it’s me, but every day I wake up with a smile and I just focus on myself and how to better myself. You must have a positive mindset or else you will only get negative results. All of those guys will become your ‘best’ friend when you’re under the spotlight.”
Me: What drives/motivates you to get up and go training every day?
Rijad Kobiljar: “My family and my passion and love for the game. Simple as that.”
“Allow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your profession.” -Gabrielle Bernstein
Me: What do you think is the key to your team’s success?
Rijad Kobiljar: “A good environment is the key. As we just won the league. And that’s the 3rd title in 4 years! A positive environment with good vibes is the most important because we have the quality but it’s got to be channeled through a positive environment!”
Me: What’s the dressing room morale like?
Rijad Kobiljar: “What happens in the dressing room doesn’t leave the dressing room!”
Me: How did you decide which position to play?
Rijad Kobiljar: “God gifted me with talent and the coaches played me at the center mid attacking role because usually the most technical / talented players will play that position.”
Me: If you weren’t a professional soccer player, what profession would you have pursued?
Rijad Kobiljar: “A fudbal player because I cannot imagine myself doing anything else …. god blessed me with this and I can’t thank him enough for allowing me to discover and act on my passion.”
Me: What will you do to become an even better player/person?
Rijad Kobiljar: “I will continue working on myself daily in every way possible. I will never stop working hard to improve on myself.”
Me: Any advice for kids pursuing their dreams?
Rijad Kobiljar: “To just keep going every day, and do new things to better yourself and to sit down deeply and think about who it is you want to be and what you want to be remembered for. It’s really what it comes down to, the sacrifices and struggle that’s required is incredible, you must be prepared for it.”
Me: Final question: What is your favorite kind of potato chips? (Koji chips volis?)
Rijad Kobiljar: “Ja volim paprika chip!!!! Ali moze every other chips as well!!!”
*****Translation: (I love Paprika Chips, but I like all kinds of other chips as well!)
